In most of our chalets we have ski rooms that are con vented into cycling storage.  Mont Rose and Mont Rosset have large garages and these can be used by the Jardin Alpin Chalets as well.  So securing your bike at the end of the day is all taken of care of.

CYCLING ROUTES IN THE LOCAL AREA

We have listed some details of rides accessible from our chalets here in Les Coches.   Either ride to them and back or take our drop-off and collection service to the base of the valley .   These are only some of the routes and we can help plan and provide GPS download data for all these routes as required .

CYCLING ROUTE : VERSANT DU SOLEIL

Route Description

This scenic loop takes you through the stunning Haute Tarentaise region, offering incredible

panoramic views of the Vanoise massif. Beginning in Bourg-Saint-Maurice, riders embark on

a steady climb to Les Chapelles, the highest point of the route. From here, cyclists can take a

break to admire the spectacular vistas of the surrounding peaks.

The descent is an exhilarating ride through traditional Tarin hamlets, where cyclists can

observe the beautifully restored Alpine homes. The route also passes through historical

vineyards, once prized in the Middle Ages. The final stretch through Aime provides a chance

to visit the Montmayeur Tower before reaching the Versants d’Aime lake for a refreshing

pause. The return route follows the valley floor, offering a relaxed ride with views of the

Beaufortain mountains.

CYCLING ROUTE : COL DU PETIT SAINT-BERNARD

ROUTE DESCRITION

The Col du Petit Saint-Bernard is a legendary climb that takes you from Bourg-Saint-

Maurice to the French-Italian border. This route has been featured in the Tour de France

and offers a challenging yet rewarding ascent.

Starting with a steady incline along the Isère River, the climb intensifies as you pass

through La Rosière, a charming ski resort. The final 6 km are the most demanding, with

steep gradients leading to the Col du Petit Saint-Bernard (2,188 m). At the summit, riders

can soak in breathtaking views of Mont Blanc and cross into Italy for a well-earned

espresso!

The descent back to Bourg-Saint-Maurice is a thrilling ride, with long, sweeping turns

allowing cyclists to enjoy the exhilarating speed and Alpine beauty.

Route Description

La Voie Verte is a scenic and accessible cycling route perfect for those looking

to enjoy stunning Alpine landscapes without extreme gradients. This car-free

path winds through picturesque villages, serene lakes, and lush forests, making

it a fantastic option for families, leisure cyclists, and those looking to warm up

before tackling steeper climbs.

A challenge for serious cyclists, these legendary cols have been featured in the

Tour de France and offer some of the most rewarding climbs in the world.


Featured Climbs

Col de l’Iseran (2,764m) – The highest paved pass in the Alps, with a 13.5 km

climb from Bonneval-sur-Arc and gradients up to 10%.


Col du Petit Saint Bernard (2,188m) – A steady climb with panoramic views

over Mont Blanc.


Cormet de Roselend (1,968m) – A breathtaking climb featuring a picturesque

lake and lush alpine scenery.


Col de la Madeleine (1,993m) – A famous Tour de France climb with steep

sections over 10%.


Col de la Loze (2,304m) – One of the most extreme cycling climbs in France,

featuring sections as steep as 23%.
